any of you ever try yam noodles?
i just noticed them yesterday at the market.
they are in a plastic package with water.
there was also yam cake, which looked similar to tofu
i was a little scared, but also intrigued
i guess i just like baked yams so much that the idea of a processed noodle was a little frightening

Re: speaking of yams
Thu, April 26, 2007 - 1:51 PMSince I can't eat potatoes.....
I have come up with a bunch of different yam/sweet tater recipes.. (according to Martha Stewart all of the ones we get in North America, are actaually sweet potatoes). I do use the ones called yams.
I now get my sweet potatoe salad requested at BBQS.....
it's been "neat' that I've been seeing them pre cut at TJ's & whole foods etc.....
I've never seen noodles though???? where in the world did you find those??
& yam cake??? huh. -

Re: speaking of yams
Thu, April 26, 2007 - 2:02 PMi love the whole yam/sweet potato thing
i actually studied the history of yams as money in certain island societies in anthro classes a while ago...
i would love to hear your neato recepies, i just love them
i found them at a store similar to a gourmet market/whole foods store
oh wait, you are in s.f?
it was at Andronico's mixed in with their tofu and other meat substitutes next to the seaweed noodles (another one i have yet to try)
looks like rice noodles already moistened in water
